Our afternoon was one spectacular drive!We finished off the big five with ten dagga boys close to Serengeti pan, soon after we headed towards the wild dog den and found one female resting at the site, Pieter found some elephants at baboon pan and Bahuti still hanging around chitwa driveway.
This morning before we headed west we found a spotted hyena chewing on some old bones on chitwa airstrip. As we entered the west we were searching for cheetahs to finish off the magnificent seven for Kathryn Draper birthday! Our luck was still running high as we did not find one cheetah but two! We sat watching the males strolling about through the bushes keeping us busy (trying to keep up) we left the two speedy cats just after they attempted a hunt on some impala but missed. I headed south towards big dam and Pieter headed north. Pieter found the Styx pride at Simbambili open area and I found Salayexe on a fresh impala kill just north of big dam! On our way back my tracker pointed out something on a termite mound. We investigated and found Bahuti relaxing right at the top of the big mound right next to Djuma old. We saw the magnificent seven on the seventh of the seventh for Kathryn Drapers twenty-seventh birthday! Congratulations!Bush regards
