30 June - 1 July

Our afternoon drive had us looking into the sky for sightings as the drive was very quiet, our stars for the drive was an herd of elephants north of the lodge with at least 6 youngsters under a year old, small mongoose in the road, a African Civet under the fig tree and a small spotted Genet hiding under a tree in front of the lodge on our way back.
This morning was an exciting drive. As we started off the drive we followed very fresh cheetah tracks at kudu corner, unfortunately it headed east into KNP. Soon after we sat with the Styx pride on a zebra kill. As we sat at the feast we spotted some spots in the distance, Bahuti had wondered unknowingly towards the lions, luckily he had noticed them and climbed the nearest tree.
The Styx however did not notice the leopard in the tree just fifty meters from their kill; bahuti watched the pride with a nervous eye and did not stay around too long as he headed the opposite direction from the lion pride.
