5 - 6 July

Our afternoon was a success as we had plenty to see, the highlight was of course the Styx pride on a wildebeest kill at pungwe pan. We sat watching the lions devour the gnu not wanting to share with anyone, the cubs however had their fill and were playing around the kill waiting their next turn.
This morning we were only a few on the vehicle and two of the guest were new and this would be their first safari, what a memorable morning it would be!
We saw the big five in one drive! First the elephant, a bull, feeding along the northern side of gowrie main. A few meters south on chitwa drive way we found bahuti! The leopard was relaxing on the cool grass up until we stopped there.
As we switched off the car he stood up and had a drink of water out of a very small mud puddle. Very happy we headed west back to the Styx still busy eating, only this time they were chewing on bare bone! One of the cubs was enjoying the scraps off of the wildebeest scull. We had to head back to camp as we were going to be late for breakfast, as we got out two dagga boys showed their faces just west of the lions. What a successful morning!

Bush regards
