7 & 8 September

Once we started our afternoon drive we went to look for Thandi (female leopard). With luck we found her feeding on the Impala kill. After that we headed towards the area where they saw Buffaloes earlier that day. While viewing them we were pleasantly surprised by Lamula (male leopard) making an appearance. The sun was setting so we decided to leave him be and moved off to have sundowners.

What an exciting morning we had!! It started off with 2 of the Matimba males on one of the open areas close by. They were on a mission and we followed them for a while before they headed North. On our way out of the sighting we found tracks of a male leopard heading south into our property. Not soon after we found Bahuti stalking a Duiker. Unfortunately he wasn't successful this time. During the rest of the morning we saw some elephant and buffalo as well. Close to the end of the drive on our way back to the lodge we heard the exciting news that 3 cheetah just caught an impala not to far north of the lodge. Without blinking we headed there immediately and viewed them while they were feeding on the kill. With a lot of excitement and hungry bellies we headed back to the lodge to end our morning with a nice hot breakfast!!
