Our drive started very quiet as we left the lodge, plains game were plentiful and a Verreaux eagle owl and dwarf mongoose were the highlights of the drive up until we found the Styx pride right at the end of the drive, they were relaxing on the fence line north of Simbambili.
After a short while they got up and started to move west along the fence. We followed for a while, where after they followed us for a while before we headed back to camp.
This morning we barely could wipe the sleep out of our eyes before we bumped into elephant’s right next to the lodge at Kaal kol. The rest of the drive was as quiet as yesterday with giraffe and hippos out of water at Chitwa dam.A happy Father’s day from all of us at Nkorho.
