4 - 5 May

We headed west as soon as drive started; looking at magnificent plains game on the way Nyala and
waterbuck were among the favourites.
When crossed over to the west the Styx pride had moved on from the buffalo leftovers, so we headed west on A main, we spotted some wild dog tracks and it came to our attention that these tracks were fresh as they were on top of the vehicle tracks in the road, we were on the peruse. The tracks headed north and knowing wild dogs this could mean anything! We were three vehicles later on, all in search of the endangered dogs. Finally after twenty minutes of tracking we found them! they were going north on Zebra drive by this time there was a line-up of 4 other vehicles wanting to see the dogs, and as the sun was setting it did not give us much time. So we had a quick glimpse of the canines and made space for the next vehicle before the sun sets.
Non the less the search and chase followed by a rewarding sighting was worth it.  This morning was a great drive! We spent the whole drive discussing and enjoying the common game such as hippos, elephants, kudu, giraffe, and of course the Impala was our main focus. But on our way back after sitting with a herd of ellies we found a creature not favoured by many but the star of our dive, a puff adder sunbathing on the warm dirt road. Quite relaxed and not fazed by us while he was warming his exothermic body.
