Afternoon drive had a relaxing start as we sat and spend
some time with a dazzle of zebra on kaal kol, one mare had a young foul with
her. We bumbled around looking at Kudus and Impala on our way west. In the west
we found a dagga boy relaxing in the wet long grass. After the large bovine we
had a early sundowner enjoying the scenery with a herd of blue wildebeest
grazing in the not-so-far distance on our way back we found a herd of elephant
moving south from Gowrie main.
This morning we bumped into the same herd as we
left the lodge, in the west we drove aimlessly looking for any exiting animals
(which means all animals). Male impalas fighting always make for good
entertainment, giraffe and zebra with a couple of Kudu cows made for a good
sighting but the highlight was after coffee! We went to enjoy the lazy Styx
pride with the three cubs in the north. On our way back the elephants had made
their way north of our lodge.
